Job Description

Purpose Statement

The career of sales representative includes but is not limited to selling and renting to sell equipment from the prospective RPM Machinery, LLC store.

 

Essential Functions

Develop and implement marketing plans and procedures in partnership with our marketing team to increase market share.

Develop existing accounts and continuously cold calling and prospecting on new accounts with the goal to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales and new account objectives.

Educate customers on RPM Machinery’s vast product line and how a partnership with RPM is the optimal choice for equipment, parts and service.

Negotiate pricing for both sales and service.

Calling on customers on a daily basis, following up with these customers as needed that may require some evenings and or weekend hours.

Reporting to superiors of construction projects and the equipment needed in the allotted territory.

Continually staying organized in reporting of daily activities with call reports.

 

Other Functions

Follow all safety rules and regulations as per policy.

Ensure all personal protective equipment requirements are adhered to.

 

REPORTING

This position would report directly to the Regional Sales Manager

 

Experience

Prior work experience in outside sales with specific experience in industrial equipment sales is a plus but not an absolute requirement.

Work with the Service Department Manager to maintain, repair and service heavy construction equipment. Ability to troubleshoot problems with diesel engines, and hydraulic and electrical systems.

 

Required skills: 

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel, electrical and mechanical construction equipment 
  • Valid and clean IN driver's license. CDL class A and B with air break and tank endorsement required.
  • Proficiency reviewing service manuals and preparing service-related documents as needed. 
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely. 
  • Familiarity with the construction industry. 
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs. 

 

Beneficial Skills: 

  • Familiarity with Case, CAT, John Deere Construction Equipment 
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction technology and details. 
  • Welding experience a plus. 
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word are a plus.
